People are often said
to be products of their environments. A perfect example of this is
Chad Brauer. Chad has spent a better part of his life surrounded by
bass fishing. Travel, tackle preparation, practice, and tournaments
were all part of his childhood, so it is no surprise that when he came
of age, Chad would want to pursue a career in bass fishing.
After graduating from the University of Missouri in 1995,
 with a
degree in Fisheries and Wildlife, Chad began fishing the BASS circuit.
Earning three Top 10 finishes in his first year, he progressed to the
next level of the Top 100 Tour. He then won his first BASS Top 100
tournament on Old Hickory Lake in Tennessee, which was only his third
event. He has since qualified for three Bassmaster Classics, including
the one which his father won in 1998.
Currently, Chad is competing on the BASS Elite Tour, as well as
hosting “Academy Outdoors” on the Outdoor Channel. He continues to
have goals every year of winning tournaments, qualifying for the
Bassmaster Classic, and winning Angler of the Year.
